A friend of mine asked me what I did all day long. He knew that I was building a marketing firm, but he asked me about the mechanics of that I did every day.
It actually took me a minute to think about, but I finally answered: “I make friends”. It should have been easy to answer since the other day I wrote that making friends is the most important step to having customers.
In “marketing speak” that’s also known as “building relationships”.
How I make friends:
- Comment on blogs.
- SHOULD be tweeting more. I’ll definitely be committing myself to doing so.
- Write on this blog.
- Send emails with helpful information, and not asking for anything in return.
- Spend a LOT of time talking to customers helping them in any way possible.
By the way, this is also a kick ass way to increase revenue for your business as well. I’m sure that there is a lot that I’m missing, but like you, I have a limited amount of time to dedicate to each endeavor. This is what works for me. I’d love to hear what works for you!
